What to Expect

Complete Eye Care is more than a vision test

We know your vision is important to you - and it's important to us. When you come for your appointment, we make sure to schedule ample time for your appointment so you will never feel rushed. Our office provides complete eye care for both adults and children. Our comprehensive eye examinations will check your eyes inside and out for any potential eye disorders or diseases including glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. Your visual skills and abilities are carefully evaluated and appropriate treatment(s) are prescribed, whether it's medication, lenses, or vision therapy.

Many conditions that affect the body can also impact the eye including high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, cancer and many more. We are prepared to handle whatever your eyecare needs are, and will treat them with the latest in diagnostic equipment. We are constantly investing in more "high tech" equipment to allow us to serve you better.

Eye Infections and Eye Injuries

Our office provides emergency services for eye infections and eye injuries. Please call our office at 952-898-4088 during office hours or Dr. Rudser at 952-738-2636 after hours or on weekends. Our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. State of the art microscopes allow us to examine the front surface of the eye and facial areas around the eye for infection or injury. After assessing the extent of the injury or infection a treatment plan will be formulated and explained to you. Treatment may include medications and supportive care. Follow-up visits to monitor your recovery will be scheduled as needed.

Kids Eye Exams:

At Advanced Eye Care Professionals we believe children's vision and children's eye exams are just as important as adult exams. Sometimes children don't know how the world should look, so they might not be able to tell mom and dad there is a visual problem. Dr. Rudser recommends thorough eye examinations for all children prior to starting school, ideally at the age of 3, then 5, then yearly visits. Additionally Dr. Rudser is also an InfantSEE doctor, which allows all children between 6 months to one year old to have a complete eye exam at no cost to Mom and Dad. Children's eye exams will test for: visual acuity, eye muscle development, color vision, stereo (depth perception) testing, focusing ability and retinal health.

Signs of potential vision problems in children include:

  • Inability to focus on objects
  • Squinting, closing or covering one eye
  • Excessive blinking or rubbing of the eyes
  • Tired during school work
  • Dislike and/or avoidance of close work
  • Short attention span
  • Placing head close to page when reading
  • Losing place while reading or using finger to keep their place
  • Complaints of headaches
  • Turning or tilting head to one side

Dr. Rudser can answer any questions that you may have about your child's eye health.

When should you have your next eye examination?

Many people equate the need for an eye examination with replacing their eyeglasses. While it's certainly important to see well, undesirable changes in your eyes can occur which can adversely affect vision even in the early stages. Unlike the rest of your body, your eyes rarely hurt when something is wrong. Do not rely on changes in your vision or broken glasses to remind you of your next appointment. Follow the advice of the experts and have your eyes examined on a regular basis.
