New Website Educates Consumers About Vision Options and Eye Health
The Contact Lens Council (CLC), a non-profit organization and resource on vision correction, has launched a new website, www.mycontactlenses.org, to educate patients about the most recent innovations in contact lens design and to help them be informed contact lens users. Edward Schilling, CLC's Executive Director, says that the organization "hope[s] to introduce the benefits of contact lenses to inexperienced consumers, aid in the journey for new and long-time users. . . [and] provide all consumers with useful information on safely wearing contact lenses and the importance of overall eye health."
Features of MyContactLenses.org include:
- a FAQ section
- a complete overview of currently available contact lens brands and types
- information on proper care of contact lenses
Advisory members of the CLC include the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the American Optometric Association and the Contact Lens Society of America. The CLC is sponsored by Alcon Laboratories, Advanced Medical Optics, Bausch & Lomb, CIBA Vision, Cooper Vision, and Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Products.
