Contact Lenses
High Oxygen Contact Lenses
Wearing lenses continuously, sleeping or taking naps with Contact Lenses in your eyes (or do you wish you could)?
Several advances in contacts have been made and continue to progress with the design of contacts as well as the actual material the lens is made out of. Just like you can have shirts made out of different materials, the material the contact lens is made out of can vary dramatically too, which means the amount of oxygen that gets to your cornea can be substantially different.
There are certain soft contact lenses that are FDA approved for continuous wear for up to 30 days. Ask Dr. Rudser about upgrading to contacts that fit your lifestyle more succinctly at your next visit. (Important note: not every patient is a good candidate for wearing lenses continuously. Dr. Rudser will determine if your eye is healthy enough for this wearing schedule. Also, most brands of soft contact lenses are not approved for this wearing schedule-do not start wearing lenses continuously without consulting Dr. Rudser first).
